The above statement was obviously written with abused women in mind. However, replace the feminine with masculine and you find the statement applies just as well to abused men. Many of the "socially determined" reasons men do not reach out for help are similar to those of abused women. Some reasons, however, are unique to men.

My goal for this site is to not only help people recognize the signs of domestic violence against men, but to also show these men that they are not alone. Just like women who suffer abuse, the men who suffer are not crazy, helpless, or weak. They are survivors.
